X-rays are safe and are only taken if you need them. Realistically, we are exposed to very low levels of radiation as part of our daily lives. The x-ray machine targets only where you need it with high-speed film which shortens the amount of time we are exposed to radiation. The lead apron and collar also gives you added protection.
